Honouring the Journeys We Share: A Reflection on Community, Connection & Growing Together

Every so often, a family crosses your path who stays with you — in your heart, your memory, and in the very fabric of why you do this work.

For me, one of those families is Triona, Karen, and their daughter, Méabh.

Their journey with Rainbow by Aga began during one of the most tender moments of early parenthood: the transition home after hospital discharge. Those first days hold so much — joy, aching vulnerability, hope, fear, and that fierce love that rises up immediately, even when you’re still finding your feet.

When Triona reached out for private Baby Massage sessions at home, it felt like stepping into a sacred space — a place where touch, trust, and healing meet. Together, we created routines that weren’t just about techniques, but about reconnecting: settling into the body, grounding anxiety, and nurturing bonding after hospital care. The gentlest of beginnings, wrapped in softness.

In Triona’s words:

“We have had the privilege of accessing a few of Aga’s services throughout the years.

From having private baby massage sessions at home when our daughter was first discharged, to learning about baby-wearing and getting help choosing the perfect carrier to mimic the kangaroo care we did in hospital.”

To support a family in building that early foundation is such an honour.

But this is only the beginning of their story.

Growing Together Into Babywearing & Yoga

As little Méabh grew stronger, they returned — this time exploring babywearing, finding a carrier that echoed the deep closeness and regulation of kangaroo care. These moments always remind me that babywearing isn’t simply about convenience; it’s an emotional bridge, a continuation of the dialogue that began long before birth.

And then, one day, she arrived at Toddler Yoga — bright-eyed, curious, ready to explore the world in wobbly balance poses and proud little stretches.

Triona wrote:

“As Méabh grew bigger and stronger, we did a few sessions of toddler yoga. It was the most inclusive, affirming, and fun space for us. After cocooning for 20+ months, it was such a lovely way to meet other parents and for Méabh to socialize.”

To hear that the space felt inclusive and affirming means more to me than words can express. This has always been the heart of my work:

A space where every child is accepted exactly as they are.

Where no child has to “perform,” and no parent has to pretend.

Where nervous laughter, sensory needs, spills, meltdowns, and celebrations all belong equally.

Where families step into a room and feel, “We are safe here. We are seen.”

What It Really Means to Accept Children as They Are

One of the lines that touched me most was this:

“Aga accepts all children exactly as they are and allows them to blossom in her classes.”

Children blossom not because we teach them to — but because we hold the space for their natural unfolding.

Because we remove pressure, expectation, and comparison.

Because we sit beside them as they grow into themselves.

In Toddler Yoga, some children roar like lions, others roll under the mat for Savasana, and some sit close to their adult the entire time — all of it is perfect.

In Baby Massage, some babies coo, some nap, some cry — all of it is communication.

In Baby Yoga, movement may be big and silly or tiny and cautious — all of it is growth.

What matters most is that the space allows them to be fully themselves.

And that the adult beside them feels supported, not judged.

A Quiet Thank You

To Triona, Karen, and their beloved Méabh —

thank you for your trust, your presence, your honesty, and for returning to my offerings again and again as your daughter grew.

It is a privilege to witness milestones across the months and years.

To see the tiny newborn who once curled against your chest become a toddler reaching for the sun.

And to be even a small part of that journey is a joy I hold close.
